‘The worst disaster in Midwest City history’
Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes watched towers of flame and smoke rise over homes in several neighborhoods Thursday evening.
As wind-whipped wildfires spread out of control, every blowing ember became a potential threat. Every home’s rooftop was potential kindling for the next fire.
Clabes said he can’t think of a disaster where more Midwest City residents had their lives or homes put in danger. About 100 homes were destroyed, authorities said.
"This is probably the worst disaster in Midwest City’s history, even worse than the May 3, 1999, tornadoes,” Clabes said
No serious injuries had been reported by 10 p.m., Lojka said. Some residents had been treated for smoke inhalation and some firefighters were treated for dehydration.
Authorities sent residents in the evacuated areas to the Midwest City Community Center, where about 100 people were staying Thursday evening.

MOTHER OF THE YEAR
In a zoo in California, a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set oftriplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in thepregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size,they died shortly after birth.
The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly startedto decline in health, although physically she was fine. Theveterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into adepression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogateanother mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.
After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce tothe mourning mother.
The veterinarians decided to try something thathad never been tried in a zooenvironment. Sometimes a mother of onespecies will take on the care of a different species. The only orphans"that could be found quickly, were a litter of weaner pigs.
The zookeepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops??Take a look........ you won't believe your eyes!! Scroll down to view.

AMAZING BEACHES
Kerala beaches may be take a backseat because of the backwaters, but entire 900-km length of the Kerala coast is lined with sandy beaches, rocky promontories and coconut palms that definitely merit a visit in every tourist itinerary. Touring the beach sites of Kovalam can make any beach holiday a delightful one, as Kerala's beaches are renowned for the gentle surf and blue waters. Beach travel has never before been so exciting!
