A SELECTION OF PARTY DRESSES

Soon the holiday season will be upon us. I find it ironic that this is the time of year cookies, cakes and pies are in full abundance, but so are party dresses that you want to look smashing in.

Here are some styles you might like:

                                Herve Leger

As with most things Herve Leger, I think this one should come with a label marked: looks best on goddesses. Normally, I'm not big on sequins, but these aren't Vegas showgirl sequins. Because the dark color is on top and fades into lighter shades as you move down the dress, this style is better suited to those women who are slim of hip. If your hips aren't your favorite feature, try this next one...

                                 Nicole Miller

The empire waist and flowing skirt can hide a multitude of sins. If your tummy pooches out some, this dress will hide it. Not confident about baring all your arms? The sleeves add interesting detail. Lastly, let's go a little retro...

                                  Oscar de la Renta

I LOVE Oscar and this ode to an earlier era just makes me happy. It's classy, feminine, delicate and full skirts like that just beg you to sashay across a room.
